Guest Lecturer: Lisa of Archives Vintage

July 15, 2011
Dear folks, I’ve snuck away for some much-needed family time.  While I’m hanging in the South my real life friend, Lisa of Archives Vintage, agreed to share a little photo story of one of our adventures.  After you giggle (or scoff, as the case may be) at our antics, head over to Archives and marvel at the amazing vintage Lisa rocks on her bod and sells in her shop. -E

Texas Travel Results in Friendship, No Hatred
by Lisa of Archives

Hello readers of sartoriography! I’m Lisa of Archives Vintage, stepping in here for the day!

When Emily asked me to do a guest post for her that may or may not be travel related, I knew exactly what to share with you guys. As many of you likely know, Emily and I have actually traveled together – we took a road trip to Texas back in March to attend the Texas Style Council Conference (TxSCC). We were friends before, but this trip really brought us together something fierce. When you put four bloggers (some of whom had never met before) into a car for several days at a time, the potential for hating each other at the end was high.

Not only did we make it through alive, we’re better friends because of it! Here are some snaps from our trip:

There was a lot of snacking, laughing and goofing off on the drive...obligatory photo of her, taking a photo of me.

I can't quite recall why I took this photo, but I'm sure Emily would "ppreciat" the grammar (or lack thereof) happening at this Texas road stop. Thanks, Mojo.

When 4 hardcore thirfters (E, me, Merl, and Amanda) hardcore thrifters embark on a trip together, thrifting is a must. E and Merl trying on hats in Austin!

And of course, one of Emily and I! Shot on a very windy bridge in Austin.

TxSCC was kind of like grown up summer camp. We stayed up late, had too much fun, and made fast friends with other internet pals we hadn’t met before. Saying goodbye to everyone at the end of our short trip was difficult, but we all promised to tweet each other often, and get together soon. If only we’d made friendship bracelets, too!

Feel like you’re ready for a trip?  Then go check out Archives Vintage and get some snazzy duds to look the part!  And come back in a few days for another travel-related post from Tania of What Would a Nerd Wear.
