A Pictures is Worth a Thousand Words (So Imagine How Many Ways You Can Call Me a Fool)
Last Thursday I has a wonderful night out with some of my blogger pals. We attended a party at one of Cynthia Rowley’s Chicago stores (hosted by Amy) and then had a delicious dinner afterward. Looking through my camera at the end of the night, I was amazed at how ridiculous I look in most of the photos. I was jumping, posing, guffawing, pontificating, inappropriately gesturing, eyebrow-raising, and creepy fur-stroking. I was making faces, being irreverent, mocking myself, and failing at pretending that I take seriously anything but school and love. Basically, I was being completely myself.
For all those of you who’ve expressed an interest in knowing me in person, these pictures are a pretty good indication of what that’d be like. If you make it to the end and you’re not scared off or pictured-out, check out the pictures of the Cynthia Rowley party and my lovely co-bloggers.

And so it begins: making snobby scholars proud by pretentiously pontificating. Lisa is only vaguely amused.

Popping out from behind a rack of clothes. This is reminiscent of countless times I scared the life out of family members as a child. I look like a Munch painting.

Yes, I'm grabbing my lady parts underneath this fur. No, I should not be allowed into public spaces.

I got a draft. What can I say, Chicago wind on the booty is not my friend. Wearing vintage lace dress (Delicious Vintage), vintage Armani blazer (thrifted, $3!!!), black tights (c/0 Hue), ankle boots (Target, $15), snake clutch (Delicious Vintage, $20), belt (thrifted), necklace (inherited), bracelet (H&M).
And here are some of my favorite (non-me acting like a fool) photos from the night. Aren’t we Chicago-ans all stylish?! For more photos of the events, check out Chicago Streetstyle Scene.

baaaaaaahahahaha! i am literally sitting at my desk at work with pursed lips and tears in my eyes from trying to hold in my laughter! yes, these photos are a wonderful representation of you in real life. goofy, pretty and MUCH FUN to be around!!!!
Do you have any idea how much you remind me of Dad in the third picture? Just something about that gesture and expression that just feels very Darwin…and feels like Darwin suggesting that, well, that’s really all there is to the situation folks. And, the windy-booty picture? Lovin’ it…
Hee hee. Glad I can provide such entertainment.
And what can I say, I am Little Darwin… Hee!!
I can’t get over how shiny everyone’s hair looks! What crazy chemicals are they putting in that industrial Chicago water?
Also, I hid in my boyfriend’s closet just last week and jumped out at him. And when I do it again (because I think we all know I will), I’ll just claim to be interpreting a Munch painting. He can’t get mad at art.
That’s it. I must meet you face-to-face. I am suddenly no longer satisfied with our bloggy banter! What are you doing for the rest of your life?
Why, waiting for you, of course!
Still nothing compared to twinkidines (there’s a “g” in there somewhere, isn’t there?) and it’s sequel. Soooo, when’s the trip to State? Although, I guess I’ll get my dose next weekend:) Wheeeee!!!!
TGWIKINES!!
So sad that I’m missing the big reunion, but I’m starting to brainstorm ideas for a fabulous roadtrip to PA in summahtime.
omgoodness you are adorable and these pictures make me wish that 1) we were besties in real life 2) I lived in Chicago so that could even be possible.
oh and I’m in love with your dress… even if it would be almost full length on little old me, you’re lucky we aren’t besties in real life b/c I’d steal, I mean, borrow it.
Um, gosh! All your friends are so enviably stylish! I’m especially admiring the boys. If that makes me a bit of a perv, I’m ok with it. Also, so many hats. So many hats. *swoon*
Oh my goodness, this fashion time out looks like so much fun. So many interesting people.
And who knew you could jump so high, while in a dress, and in boots!!!!!
First so proud to say that I know the real you. Second, the caption for our twins picture should have had some reference to Danny DeVito or you saying that you would rather be Danny DeVito. Third, that pic of me and Clare….made me realize that I talk a lot with my hands. Maybe I can be a hand model someday. Hmm……..new profession?
1. I love all your captions. 2. I love the many faces of Emily. 3. I’m jealous, I want to hang out and go to fun events. 4. soon enough, I will! teeehee and 5. Your vintage lace dress is divine. oh and 6. I heart the jumping photo. Lots of air for a white girl!
Oh, how I wish I knew you. And how I wish I had a THREE DOLLAR ARMANI BLAZER!
You got some serious height in that jump! Athletic, you are!
This looks like it was an amazing time, Emily! Every time I read your blog I am more and more convinced that I should move to Chicago to hang out with you ladies …
Your hair IS shiny! You seem hilarious. I agree with other people: I wish we were friends in real life!
Thank you so much for coming to my party Emily! I had a great time hanging out with you and I hope to do it again soon
xoxo
