Land, Ho!: Blogger-gal Adventures on Quarry Hill

Ooh, adventure! What WILL we find?! Treasure? A magical city? Some people who have no interest in our interference like those "found" by 99.95% of other explorers?!
As you may have already read over at Between Laundry Days, this weekend I had a Sunday outing with my pal Clare. We did some thrifting (aka treasure hunting!), some eating, some laughing, and some major scheming about all kinds of fun things. We even spent some time snapping photos on the hilltop of a filled-in quarry. Here’s what my camera yielded from the photo shoot. I think we look like old school explorers, just without the ships, tall boots, and imperialist tendencies.

Hmm. I think the lost city might be this way, mates. Shall we plunge forth into the wild jungles? Beware of tigers! Agh, where IS my pith helmet?!
For our venture into uncharted waters I wore one of my favorite dresses (stolen from my roommate’s closet) and, thumbing my nose at the weather, paired it with only this light tee and some flats I got years ago in Namibia. Clare was rocking some awesome jeans (which she hemmed herself) and a lacy tee. I think her outfit is very Gweneth Paltrow circa 1998 meets The Outsiders. This is very much a compliment.
In case you were curious, our treasuring hunting did indeed unearth some gems. My next post will include not one but TWO of them. That’s right, I couldn’t wait to show off my discoveries. Clare got some awesome pieces, too, which I’m sure will be popping up on BLD.
Anyone else have any awesome weekend adventures? Did YOURS involves treasure hunts, ships and swashbuckling?! Any other blogger-gal meet-ups out there?

Yay! Go us! We look fabulously ridiculous. Must do this again, stat!
I’m so jealous of all the fun you two are having! Mark my words … one day, we’ll be three
